The viewer count Instagram displays to the account owner only counts logged-in viewers tied to real accounts, so a server-side fetch doesn't register there. Your name, your handle, your device — none of it reaches the account owner's analytics. The story owner can refresh their viewer list a hundred times and you won't be on it.

How does AnonyIG work?

AnonyIG runs as a serverless proxy between you and Instagram's public content endpoints. When you paste a username, our backend resolves the profile against Instagram's public Graph, pulls the story manifest, and streams the media files back to your browser. The fetch happens server-side, which means Instagram only ever sees our IP — your IP, browser fingerprint, and any account state on your device never leave it. We don't keep search history or store cached files past a short rolling window (~24 hours), and there's no account layer to leak. The whole flow is plain HTTPS, no extension to install, no SDK. If a profile is set to private, the manifest comes back empty and the request stops there — we don't bypass Instagram's access controls.
